Texting us to make a donation

Texting to give to Hands 4 Wellbeing is a quick and simple method to make a donation to the organisation. Thank you very much for your generosity if you have already texted a donation.

From where may I make text-based donations?

Please keep in mind that you may only give from a mobile phone in the United Kingdom. You are unable to give using this service from a mobile phone in the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, or any other non-UK location. If you make a donation using this service from a UK mobile phone that is not located in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland, you may be subject to extra network costs from the receiving network.

How we may make use of your personally identifiable information Hands 4 Wellbeing values your privacy and encourages you to review our privacy notice, which outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard any information you provide to us.

Terms and restrictions that apply in general

  • When you make a donation to Hands 4 Wellbeing using SMS, you will be charged the usual network message fee (based on your service provider rates).
  • Please make certain that you spell the term correctly and that you send your text message to the proper short code, or your gift will not be sent.
  • As long as your keyword and short code are genuine, you will be charged the contribution amount as soon as you receive the bounce-back message — this payment will be paid to your cell phone account directly. It is possible that you will not receive a bounce-back message for a period of time. Please wait until you have received it before proceeding. Any further texts will result in additional contributions.
  • If your keyword or short code is not legitimate, you may not receive a bounce-back, but you may still be charged the regular network message rate for sending the message. Because you will not be making a gift to Hands 4 Wellbeing, you will not be charged for the donation.
  • Before sending a text message, all supporters must first acquire permission from the person who is paying the bill. If you are under the age of sixteen (16), you must get the approval of your parent or guardian before sending an SMS gift to us.

Texting in response to our television appeal

If you text us as part of our television appeal, the rules of our Text to Donate policy will apply in addition to the following provisions:

One-Time Gift:

  • In the event that you receive a bounce-back message after sending the text FIGHT to 70607, you will be charged £10, which will be paid immediately to your mobile phone bill.
  • Choosing to receive Hands 4 Wellbeing communications by phone or SMS to keep you informed about our work and how you can help is as simple as texting the word FIGHT to 70607.
  • If you would want to make a one-time £10 donation without agreeing to receive future communications from Hands 4 Wellbeing, you may text the word FIGHTNO to the number 70607. When you receive the bounce-back message, you will be charged £10, but you will not receive any more communication from Hands 4 Wellbeing on our work.

Gift each month:

  • Texting FIGHT to 70002 will result in a bounce-back to confirm that you are setting up a monthly donation to Hands 4 Wellbeing. The cost of responding YES will be £3 plus one standard rate message, plus £3 every month thereafter. This fee will be added immediately to your mobile phone account if you choose to accept the offer.
  • In addition, by texting FIGHT to 70002, you are giving your consent for Hands 4 Wellbeing to contact you via phone or SMS to keep you informed about our work and how you can assist us.
  • If you would prefer to make a £3 monthly donation without being contacted by Hands 4 Wellbeing, you may text the word FIGHTNO to 70002 and it will be accepted. A confirmation that you are setting up a monthly contribution to Hands 4 Wellbeing will still be sent to you through email. If you answer YES, you will be charged £3 plus one standard rate message from Hands 4 Wellbeing, but you will not get any future communication from us on our work.

If your donation is eligible for gift assistance, you will be contacted for more information.
